Tanzania Gears Up to Host Pan-African Summit

(MENAFN) Tanzania is gearing up to host a pivotal Pan-African summit centered on shaping the future of social security throughout Africa, a top official revealed Sunday.

Scheduled for July 10 in the northern city of Arusha, the high-level gathering will bring together social security leaders and policymakers from 15 countries, including Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, South Sudan, the Comoros, Sierra Leone, Côte d'Ivoire, Gambia, Mali, Namibia, alongside Tanzania as the host.

During a press conference held in Dodoma, Tanzania’s capital, Ridhiwani Kikwete, minister of state in the Prime Minister’s Office overseeing labor, youth, employment, and persons with disabilities, emphasized that the summit seeks to amplify regional discussions on how social security institutions can strategically influence national development goals.

Ahead of the main event, a stakeholder forum is set for July 9, offering a critical space for experts to analyze evolving trends and tackle pressing challenges within the sector, Kikwete added.

"This forum will bring together stakeholders, policymakers, regulators, and top executives to explore how the sector can better drive social and economic transformation across Africa through investments in infrastructure and strategic projects," Kikwete said.
